Free Christmas Tree Recycling

Now that Christmas has come and gone, Monroe County is offering free tree recycling.   Christmas trees received at these locations will be ground into wood chips for use as landscape mulch. Certain locations may also offer these wood chips to residents.  Please remove all decorations, plastic bags, wires and nails from trees to avoid damaging mulching equipment.  All county residents can drop trees off from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays at Terry Tree Service, 225 Ballantyne Road, Chili during the month of January.
