Toby Keith, Carly Rae Jepsen, Reba, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jeff Dunham Help Shape Best Lineup in Years
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the acts taking place at the Great New York State Fair this summer.  Today's announcement follows the Governor's successful Tourism Summit to attract even more people to the Empire State.
Luke Bryan, recent winner of the Academy of Country Music's top honor, Entertainer of the Year, leads the strongest lineup of acts in recent years to take the Grandstand stage at the New York State Fair, Governor Cuomo announced. He will perform Thursday, August 29, with opening act Thompson Square. Ticket prices for Luke Bryan are $70, $60 and $50.
"The Great New York State Fair, the oldest Fair of its kind in the country, is a tourism treasure in Central New York and one of the most entertaining venues in the entire country," said Governor Cuomo.  "This lineup of national-class performers is one more reason for all New Yorkers to make a trip this summer to see all the great things that The Fair and Central New York have to offer."

"Luke Bryan, along with the performers we're announcing today and the acts we have yet to announce, helps us keep our promise to make the Grandstand grand this year," said Darrel Aubertine, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which operates the State Fair. "This year's Fair will offer something for everybody - strong national acts, an emphasis on agriculture in New York as a huge economic driver, and entertainment at every turn. Fair season is right around the corner and it can't get here soon enough for me."
The Grandstand music series runs from August 22 - 31. Two motorsports-related events set for September 1 and 2 will be announced at a later time.
Luke Bryan recently co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards with Blake Shelton and took home 2 awards, the coveted Entertainer of the Year and the Vocal Event award with Jason Aldean and Eric Church for "Only Way I Know." During the show, Luke debuted a new single, "Crash My Party," from a forthcoming summer album. These recent wins highlight the mega success Luke has enjoyed over the past few years- multi-Platinum album sales, back-to-back #1 singles and his first #1 album debut with "Spring Break...Here To Party."  Luke's "Dirt Road Diaries" tour sold-out its first leg before it even began this spring.  His spring break shows in Panama City Beach, Florida this past March brought in 120,000 fans with the 2-day concerts on the beach and his performance at the Houston Rodeo was the second largest attendance in the rodeo's history with 75,000 fans.
His last studio album, tailgates & tanlines¸ produced 3 back-to-back Platinum singles and became a Top 10 album of 2012 and sold seven million tracks.  He has placed a total of six career singles at #1 and was named the #1 Artist of 2012 and #1 Male Artist of 2012 by Country Aircheck.  Billboard named tailgates & tanlines the #2 Country Album and the #3 Country Artist Album of 2012 and claimed Luke as the #3 Top Country Artist of the Year. Also in 2012, Luke took home 11 music awards, including a record nine wins at the American Country Awards as well as his first American Music Award.
Bryan is touring with Thompson Square. Keifer and Shawna Thompson form the duo that has won Top Vocal Duo from the Academy of Country Music for two years in a row, on the strength of a string of four top 20 singles, including "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not," which hit #1 on the hot country chart.
From his first #1 smash "Should've Been A Cowboy" to his latest release Hope On The Rocks, Toby Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era.  From Clancy's Tavern, his previous collection, the lead single, "Made In America," topped the charts as one of the fastest rising songs in a long line of chart burners from Keith's pen. The second hit, "Red Solo Cup," has become the most remarkable and commercially successful country single in recent memory with a viral video with more than 20 million views while topping the top downloaded country songs.

At the core of Toby's unparalleled success is his songwriting, which has powered an astounding succession of hit songs to the tune of more than 80 million BMI performances on commercial radio stations worldwide. He has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International with its Songwriter/Artist of the Decade distinction, is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year and was named the American Country Awards' Artist of the Decade.

His albums have sold more than 37 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard's Top 200 Artists of the Decade. Keith is also Billboard's No. 1 Artist of the Decade and No. 1 Country Songwriter of the Decade. His tours, including 2012's Live In Overdrive Tour, long sponsored by Ford Trucks, have drawn more than one million fans each year for the last decade. His roster of I Love This Bar And Grill restaurants (including one in Syracuse's Destiny USA shopping mall) continues to grow, and his recently launched signature spirit Wild Shot has become the No. 1 premium mezcal in the U.S. These, among other endeavors, have earned Keith annual recognition from Forbes as one of the very top-earning entertainer/musicians in the world.

But Toby's most rewarding experiences, as exhibited in his continual devotion to them, come from giving back. Whether it's helping sick children and their families in his native Oklahoma through the Toby Keith Foundation or supporting US Troops including USO Tours throughout the world, Keith has never lost touch with the most important things in life.
Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen brings her heard-it-everywhere hit and a batch of new songs to the New York State Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 24. Jepsen might have dominated North American airwaves in 2012 with the flirty dance smash "Call Me Maybe", but just a few years before, she managed a third place finish on the Canadian Idol TV competition. Her song was playing on Canadian pop radio stations when superstar Justin Bieber heard it on his car radio while driving home for a holiday. His tweets exposed the song to the world and success was inevitable.
Carly Rae has been nominated for 9 Billboard Music Awards, including Top Female Artist and Top Radio Song. She has also won three Juno awards, Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Awards.
Opening for her will be pop rockers Hot Chelle Rae. The Nashville band's top 10 single, "Tonight, Tonight," rocketed the four-piece group to instant stardom. They've toured with Lil Jon, Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. They're touting their recent single, "Hung Up," and an upcoming album.
"The Queen of Country", Reba, could fill an entire concert just with the singles that have hit #1 on the country charts. From "Can't Even Get the Blues" in 1982 to "Turn on the Radio" in 2010, Reba has shown she has the talent to move generations of music fans.
Reba has had at least 24 songs hit the top spot on the charts and holds the record for the most songs to crack the top 10, at 64. More than two dozen of her albums have gone gold or higher.
She's also an award-winning actress, starring in the ABC comedy, "Malibu Country," and before that, in the CW network sitcom, "Reba." She has also garnered positive reviews for her performances on Broadway, as Annie Oakley in the revival of the classic, "Annie Get Your Gun."
Opening for Reba is Caroline Kole, who has recorded four albums, has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, and frequently opens for Reba these days. That's an achievement for any artist, let alone a young woman who is just 15 years old.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd are still going strong.
Founding member Gary Rossington heads a band that plays hard rock with a southern edge on hits such as "Sweet Home Alabama," "Gimme Three Steps," and "Free Bird."   The band continues to play with a passion and ferocity that recalls its early days. The signature three-guitar attack that fueled more than 40 albums and sold more than 30 million remains intact.
They released their latest album of original songs, "Last of a Dyin' Breed," last August. It immediately rose into the top 20 on the Billboard album charts.
The Oklahoma rock band Hinder will open for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hinder has been a rock radio mainstay for most of a decade, best known for its 4 charting albums and top 5 single, "Lips of an Angel."
Jeff Dunham's all new "Disorderly Conduct" tour offers his global fan base a brand new show packed with more laughs than ever before. Dunham's famed troupe of sidekicks are back: Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-fueled redneck Bubba J, the manic purple creature Peanut, the spicy pepper from south of the border José Jalapeño, and Peanut's own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself.
Dunham and his comedic sidekicks' latest Comedy Central one hour special entitled "Minding the Monsters," which aired last October with a DVD released shortly after, is the fifth in a string of record breaking specials, debuting to 7.5 million viewers and making it the most watched special of the year for Comedy Central. "Minding the Monsters" takes its audience into the ultimate haunted house where you can see Walter transform into something grumpier than he already is, watch Bubba J rise from the dead, meet Peanut's alter ego, The Purple Avenger of the Night, and his spicy sidekick, and witness Achmed literally dressed to kill in an outfit that would terrify the most terrifying terrorist!
The phenomenal international success of Dunham and his cohorts have been driven by his Comedy Central specials, which set global records for both ratings and sales. Dunham's 4th Comedy Central TV special "Controlled Chaos," premiered to a staggering 8.3 million viewers overall making it the most viewed cable show that night. The global TV event enjoyed a never-before simultaneous same day worldwide debut in a dozen countries. Dunham continued to break ratings records at the end of 2011, when The Bio Channel's premiere of Jeff Dunham: "Birth of a Dummy" became the network's top rated telecast ever.
When Dunham isn't on the road packing arenas full of enthusiastic fans here and abroad, one of his favorite pursuits is his collection of classic American-made muscle and sports cars and other vehicles. For this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas - the largest automotive specialty products trade event in the world, he teamed up with the Chrysler Group's Mopar Street and Racing Technology team to create a customized 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 dubbed "Project UltraViolet" for its vivid violet paint job with a black rooftop that was a highlight of the event.
No wonder The New York Times Magazine declared Jeff Dunham "the most successful comedian working in America."  Dunham was recently named Pollstar's #1 Comedy Tour in North America for three years running as well as their Top Worldwide Tour for the third year in a row.  In addition, Dunham's undeniable talent placed him on Forbes magazine's Celebrity 100 roster of most powerful entertainers for the past four years.                                             .

Dunham's autobiography "All By My Selves: Walter, Peanut, Achmed, And Me" debuted in late 2010 and instantly climbed the New York Times best sellers list and achieved a Five-Star Reader Rating on Amazon.  The book candidly recounts Dunham's amazing rise to international fame beginning with his first public performances for a mere $5 a show as a fourth-grader in his Dallas, TX hometown,  followed by years of intensive touring on the comedy club circuit from his college years into adulthood to becoming an international comedy phenomenon.

The amazing rise of Jeff Dunham continues apace, with 2013 having Jeff continue to pack arena-sized venues, including a fifth tour to Europe this fall.
