I am humbled by the love and prayers STILL being sent my way since my wife Jeanne passed away from breast cancer last summer. She touched lots of people, and left an amazing legacy of friendships with people all over the country. In fact, her friend Scott in Port St. Joe, Florida, has formed a team to run in the "relay for life." They'll be running on May 3rd to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Obviously, this is an important cause to me. I'm sure pretty much everybody reading this has been touched by cancer. If the spirit moves you to make a donation, it will go to a team running in Jeanne's honor, and memory. Click the link below and lets do what we can to find a cure!

CMT AWARDS
That was a FUN show last night!! I like the fact that the artists sang their hit songs, rather than the next single that most people aren't familiar with. I really enjoyed the live performances. It was cool seeing Hank Jr. come onstage and sing with with Brad Paisley. Carrie Underwood was one of my personal favorites. Check it out!

I paid my taxes on time....barely

Here I am, minding my own business. I did my taxes over the weekend and just realized I never mailed them out. So I asked around the office where the closest mailbox is and all of a sudden not only are my coworkers MOCKING me for mailing my taxes today (the day they are do) but there's a friggin VIDEO CAMERA documenting the mocking! No respect man, I get NO respect.

Are you friggin kidding me?! After their very bitter public feud, Al Gore has brought Tody Keith and Natalie Maines and her Dixie Chicks band mates TOGETHER for a commercial promoting his "Alliance for climate protection." Politics aside, anyone who can bring these two very strong willed artists together to support a cause would get my vote. Well, that and a $1500 dollar "rebate" going into an election year, THAT will get my vote too. (Thanks for that Mr. President, you're paying for half a hot tub. I think of you often as I soak away my stress. God Bless America.) If you want a recap of the Toby Keith/Dixie Chicks feud, check out the video below. That's gonna leave a mark!!!!

It was NOT my fault!!! So here I am, minding my own business driving into work on 490 this morning when all of a sudden THUD!!!! My back tire decided it wanted to go in another direction! After a few seconds of wrestling with the steering wheel I got my Explorer pulled to the side of the road. Thanks to the nice lady that stopped traffic so I could pick up my wheel and get it off 490!! This episode inspired a song..."You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel"

Heading to Greece Ridge?
Bring Mommie!!!

Hey kids…this weekend will be the first evenings that teens will need a parent with them at Greece Ridge. People younger than 19 will be banned from the mall after 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays unless they're with a parent, legal guardian, aunt, uncle or grandparent. 18 year olds, don’t fret!! There are still plenty of things you can do:

Work in a bar. Live on your own. Pilot an airplane. Join the military and head off to war. (you’ll be exempt to walk the halls of the mall, which is really kind of silly because you’ll be overseas anyway) Vote. Become a police officer. Buy cigarettes (but not at Greece Ridge) Adopt a child. Get married. Gamble at turning stone casino. But what ever you choose to do, don’t even THINK about walking into Greece Ridge on a Friday night to buy a $6 t-shirt from old navy... unless you bring mommy with you.

Great song, TWO great artists!

Michael Buble had a hit on the pop charts with the song "Home." Now Blake's version is zooming up the country charts. Michael's tour stopped in Nashville last week and Blake hopped on stage to sing the song WITH Michael. Check out the video!

Gary Allan! According to a survey from Country Weekly Magazine, ladies have voted Gary Allan country music's hottest bachelor. He beat out Kenny Chesney and newcomer Chuck Wicks.

Tim McGraw has recorded a song with with WHO?!!!

Def Leppard, that's who!!! He co-wrote a song called "Nine lives" with the 80's hairband legands. I've heard several stories on how Tim hooked up with Def Leppard, but whatever the story, the song ROCKS! It's being used during ABC broadcasts of NBA games. Check out a clip of the tune.

Tmz reports "dog the bounty hunter" will be back on A&E. Production is scheduled to begin asap. No on air date for the new episodes has been announced yet. As I was getting ready to talk about this story on the air, I was recording Dog's theme song into our computer, and didn't realize my mic was on at the time. So MY HORRIBLE singing was recorded with the theme!! I'm not above laughing at myself, so here it is!

Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are headed for a showdown. The once and present lovers of Brad Pitt are on a course to meet face-to-face for the first time since Brad dumped Jen. The pink ribbon is on my bio page because I recently lost Jeanne, my wife of 14 years, to breast cancer. I have thought about taking the ribbon down because I don't want people to equate Jeanne with cancer and have that be the only thing they know about her. She was a very caring soul, a great mother, dedicated wife, Simon school grad, Warden at our church, and a whole lot more. I HATE seeing that pink ribbon because it reminds me of how tough her last year on earth was. BUT....if it helps one women get checked for breast cancer than I guess it's worth it.

I was born and raised here in Rochester and graduated from Rush Henrietta High School in 1988. Radio is something I've always wanted to do. I remember being 10-years-old and making 'radio station' tapes with my best friend. I began working professionally in radio while I was still in high school. At that time, RH had its own radio station. It was 5 watts. Just to put that into perspective for you, the CB in my old truck pumped out 5 watts! But hey, it gave me my start in broadcasting and I am forever greatful to RH for giving me that opportunity. I started working part time here at WBEE back in high school and moved into the evening show in 1997, then stepped into the afternoon shift and the program director position in 2004.
As far as music goes, I love all the stuff we play on WBEE, especially George Strait, Gary Allan, and Sara Evans. Off the radio, I listen to Chris LeDoux. Why that guy hasn't sold 100 million CD's is beyond me. He IS country music.

My wife Jeanne and I married in 1993, and were blessed with the birth of our son Aidan in 2004.

The rest of my family is scattered across the Rochester Area. My brothers and their families live in Henrietta, and Avon. Aunts, Uncles and Cousins are in East Rochester, and my parents divide their time between homes in Groveland and Florida. I spend alot of time working on my dream house in Parma. WESTSIDE!!!

Outside of radio, I enjoy reading mainly history and religious books, surfing the net, and working out. I also LOVE camping. Every year me and some buds hit the road for our annul "guy trip." So if you see a burning motorhome driving down the thruway, you may want to steer clear. I'm not kidding. We managed to burn the same motorhome TWICE.

Trisha is a big fan of both, so when she had the opportunity to help cast her "man" in the video for her latests single "This is me you're talking to" she thought John was perfect for the role! They actually met years ago while John was working on "Northern Exposure."

Rising from the ashes

Last weekend, Charlie Daniels performed during the christening ceremonies for the U-S-S New York. Approximately seven and a half tons of steel recovered from the World Trade Center was cast in the bow of the ship. Click the video to learn more about the ship.

Lady Antebellum stops by WBEE

Lady Antebellum visited the WBEE studio thursday and AGAIN, just amazed me and our listeners with a live version of their hit "love don't live here." Check our the interview, and Charles making a wee little mistake with the lyrics ; )

Lady Antebellum left the WBEE studios and headed to SUNY Brockport to play a private concert. The students at Brockport raised over $7000 for the special olympics and the concert was a special thank you from WBEE and the special olympics for their efforts!

Every now and then a song will come across my desk and just leave me with goose bumps. This is one of them. If you are a child of the 80's like me, give this a listen!!! The video was posted by Sugarland. It features them, along with tour mates Jake Owen and Little Big Town singing "Life in a northern town" by Dream Academy. It was a huge hit back in the 80's. Could it be a hit again?! Officially, Sugarland says they are not looking for this to be a single on the radio....yeah, right!!!!

Randy Owens. You know him as the lead singer for country super group Alabama. As a group, they've sold over 70 million albums. Since the band retired from touring, Randy has been working on a solo project. His first single off the album "One on one" (which will be in stores in May) is a very touching song called "braid my hair." I was honored to have Randy stop by the WBEE studios, and 20 lucky listeners enjoyed a private meet and greet with Randy!
